"El lugar del hijo/The militant" is the story of a student who is being told of his father’s death and has to travel to Salto, a town in the north of the country to attend his funeral. In Salto he discovers that his father left him a farm with debts and a house in town with a lover who settles down there with him. It is a story of rootlessness and of personal reconstruction, a metaphor on the inherited country and the youth which at some point has to deal with it"
